David Mathis is a 24- Year retired disabled Marine/ Army National Guard Veteran who proudly served this nation in multiple combat zones under both Republican and Democrat administrations.  After a lifetime of service in uniform, David is answering a new call – to serve the people of Illinois’ 27th District in the State Senate.

David is not a career politician.  He’s a father, husband, and community member who understands the challenges working families face every day.  His campaign is built on honesty, accountability and restoring trust between the people and their government.

With firsthand experience in leadership, crisis management and teamwork, David brings a disciplined, mission focused approach to solving problems.  He is committed to fighting for safer streets, better schools, lower taxes and real economic opportunity for all, not just the politically connected.

David and his wife live in Arlington Heights, where they are raising their blended family with strong values, a love of community and a belief in the American Dream.
